make or buy some reusable bags for groceries, fruits and vegs, etc., every organic shops have them! instead of coffee pods and tea bags : coffee beans and tea leafs (bulk) if you drink lots of coffee outside of the house, consider investing in a reusable coffee cup plastic sponges : wood brush and castle soap paper towels/kitchen roll : cloth towels To stock left over food use reused glass jars (from pickles for expl) or stainless steel containers! Don’t buy a bunch of new containers just for the aesthetic, start by saving the ones you already have and use them! plastic tupperware : don’t throw them away, stock dry foods in it, or other objects such as wires, photos, importants documents etc. If something breaks replace it with a reusable/sustainable/eco-friendly alternative, for exemple a broken plastic spatula, get a wooden one and see if you can first purchase it second hand! if you need to use a VPN, here is an engaged one!ĭon’t throw away the things you can still use, you can also find them an other function. send your broken electronics to the electronic recycling Invest in a Fairphone > slave labour free phone.
I am not sure about the software updates, if someone want to help about that (?). After some years don’t hesitate to restart the device from zero. Here are some good practices : don’t stock to much files, documents, photos, music : be sure to often save everything on a external hard drive.
Idem with computers! I have mine for 6 years now and it’s still bomb! you’re an Apple fan ? before throwing your computer/phone/ipod away ask yourself the good questions! you don’t need the last version of the iPhone, buying a previous version will be cheaper. If any of those ways are possible, then, buy a new one (look here for the most sustainable brands ). If you actually need it, try to find it second hand (, eBay and Facebook groups are your friends). if you need something in particular, see if you really need it (can you borrow it from a neighbor ? share it with friends ?). don’t buy super fancy/gadget electronics you won’t use!
